Gabriele Jaceviciute // Honours Student 2024
There aren’t many constants in my practice – I enjoy taking up new things and exploring particular niches. However, I find myself looking for ways to marry illustration and design on a regular basis. Be it adding traditional illustration to a purely digital design project, or making up hand-drawn icons, characters to elevate graphics-only content, I will find a way to make them get along.
Paper and design for print are particularly fascinating to me. I think that the tactile aspect of physical media and the accidents that arise from different mediums interacting are precious and something to be embraced.
I have taken up a myriad of minor projects this year, along with one major endeavour in which I search for ways to encourage repairing items instead of throwing them away.
